Well, Ian Somerhalder (Damon) managed to charm and insult a segment of the American population in one fell swoop during his visit to the Tonight Show last night. When prompted by Leno to compare his hometown ladies to those of... ahem, another city, the Louisiana native responded that the women in said city were, um, “looser and cooler.” (Well at least he said cooler!)
But surely he jests! Because we all know Ian is an equal opportunity dater (so hold your fire, ladies). In fact, as a young boy, our southern cutie pie had pretty reasonable expectations for his kissing partners:
“I wanted to... make out with girls that didn’t smoke,” he said matter-of-factly. Hear that, Ian? That’s the sound of millions of women pulling a Carrie Bradshaw circa Season 3 and kicking the habit. Well done!
And, of course, Jay did his usual surprise-the-guest-with-embarrassing-childhood-photos thing, but if you look like Ian Somerhalder, then there’s not much you can do to distract fans from the hotness that we see today (nice try, Jay). Plus, Ian had a surprise of his own up his sleeve — and it involved a photo of a young Jay on the cover of one People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue. Say, what!? Yeah, you’ve gotta see it to believe it.
